We are looking for candidates with good project management , time management and strong organisational skills, who can lead a team and maintain good quality control over the standard of work produced for bid responses. Therefore applicants must know what ‘good’ and ‘best bid practice’ looks like and ensure bid responses are robust, succinct and winning responses incorporating win themes and differentiators, answering the question, evidencing claims and showcasing positive proven outcomes.
You must be able to determine a well constructed, well edited and grammatically correct response from a mediocre piece of narrative that misses opportunities to sell the services.
Candidates will need confident communication and motivational skills, be able to devise and implement a bid plan, oversee and review written responses and keep the bid on track to time lines.
You will be willing to visit sites, attend meetings with clients, consultants and supply chain and have a strong determination to do what it takes to achieve the best submission possible.
Remit of the role
To manage the process of capability for, feasibility studies, pre-qualifications and tenders.
To identify and complete tender deliverables and establish a strategy to complete submissions as smoothly as possible, establishing clear lines of communication with key stakeholders and setting expectations regarding information needed for the bid and deadlines.
When a presentation is required you will assist in the production of interview media and coach the delivery teams to ensure the right messages are emphasised during the presentation.Once the outcome of tenders has been announced, it is essential that the Bid Manager obtain feedback and run a ‘lessons learned’ session for the bid team to enable continuous improvement in the quality of bids and presentations.
Candidates must have previous experience working within construction/built environment and/or engineering in order to be able to show comprehension with communicating with operational staff and support them in delivering their sections of the tender.

You will be a team player in the true sense, an easy and confident communicator at all levels, able to establish knowledge and authority and roll up your sleeves to work with the team as required. Some times bids come in thick and fast and there are periods of pressure, a calm and well organised approach is essential with a resilient personality and strong leadership skills.
